Wow, you start trying dry fasting so soon. Anyway, for dry fasting you shouldn’t extend it more than 72 hours. It’s much more extreme than water fasting. The next time you go extended fasting, why not combine dry fasting and water fasting together? 1 day of dry fasting first, then 1-2 weeks of water fasting. It helps you get into fasted state much faster. 🤔

Hahah, credits go to you Nate! If you didn't mention about Dry Fasting and the Russian links to it, I wouldn't have found the credible sources online. Whenever I deem something to be safe & possibly beneficial, I'll jump right into it with best efforts until I find a better way. That was the case with Calories Counting which I started late last year and hit a month-long plateau which I overcame with Extended Fasting. I finished reading Luke Coutinho's The Dry Fasting Miracle within 3hrs. Would adopt his recommendation of doing it 16:8 style over 3 days period: No liquids after dinner till noon next day. Thanks man, will try out your suggestion :)

I see that you’re the real man of action 👍 Thanks to you too, I’m starting reading Filonov’s book that you suggested.

Thank you! But I have to admit that it is the 'lack of action' made it easy for me to do haha. I enjoyed Extended Fasting because I don't need to think about what to eat and use time & effort to eat. Not drinking water means that I don't have to log my water consumption, wash the glasses, fill up the water boiler and bottles hahah!

Filonov's book contains records of interesting researches & findings not commonly found in English sources. The machine translation made it a more interesting read: The literal and direct sentences made him sound like an ancient Zen master lol.

Everyone knows that Russian is one of those hardest languages to learn. What are you expecting from AI translator 😓 But because everyone knows that dry fasting is very extreme, and the outcome can be dangerous for test subjects. Research about it is minimum. But you may not know. Russian’s lifespan is relatively long compare to other countries which have that bad diet and rough life quality such as Siberian. My friends from Siberia rarely have fresh plant food in their diet. All the times they eat processed animal products such as cheese, sausages, and dry meat as their main food. Russian tradition have a lot of health tips, which should be researched more about its effects on health.

May you continue to have success with your fasting efforts! You seem like you have a lot of self-discipline. May you get the results you're looking for.

Nate, I'm the least familiar with Russia & her culture but have gained a bit of insights after finishing Filonov's book. A good 40% of it are testimonials from his patients who recovered from all sorts of chronic diseases through Dry Fasting. The book also contained several nuggets of longevity wisdom such as 'Fletcherism'. Since a long time ago I have heard people saying that eating slowly is good for health. Perhaps the key effect is actually in chewing many times to bringing out the psychological & physiological functions for weight control.

Debbie, thank you for your well-wishes! What's really working for me is more of Belief than Discipline. I believe in the documented researches & numerous testimonials from the Fasting books I read thus I go with the flow ;)
