Bernard.Sg's Journal, 11 Mar 21

Broken fast 12hrs prior to this measurement, after 259hrs of fasting. Not that I felt weaken or craving for food but because I had enough of the unpleasant Keto breath and sickly sweet taste on my tongue over the past two days.
Refeed with miso soup & tofu, mixed nuts, small portion of veg, pork and brown rice. Interesting that no water weight regained over the 12hrs.
78.4 kg Lost so far: 13.7 kg.    Still to go: 10.4 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

I'm impressed, I don't think I would be able to fast that long. Takes some will power 💪. Today I involuntarily did OMAD because work has been really stressful. Are you just drinking water or are you drinking other things too? Does bulletproof drinks break the fast?

Thanks Eidetiker and Shirley. I haven't tried Bulletproof drinks but it doesn't break the fast if insulin is not triggered (due to carbs or sugars). I was drinking a variety of plain tea, coffee and also apple cider vinegar with teaspoon tip of salt for most days. On the 9th day when the ketosis sweet taste in my mouth started to get stronger, I drank only warm water.

To augment willpower, i applied Gamification and Journalling. I've stopwatch on my worn-except-charging Apple Watch to track the 'score' (duration), a free Water Tracker app to ensure I consume at least 3litres of liquids and of course the interesting biodata improvement from my smart scale. As for Journalling, besides posting here for accountability, I have Fasting Log to note my thoughts and physiological aspects.

Bernard I gotta tell you. You are doing good with this plan that you are on. I'm just reading your journal and I know I couldn't do it. But it is working for you that is all that matter. Keep it going.

Thank you Kathy for your encouragements :) Extended fasting is indeed not for everyone but Intermittent Fasting (basically widening the time between 2 meals) is worth a try.

I've had a terrible time with watches. The last two I've tried left a nasty rash on my wrist. I'm going to try the Wyze Watch next, I pre-ordered some time in late December early January and noticed they've taken it off their website so I'm a little worried that it won't come. I do have a smart scale, but I haven't been able to figure out how to manipulate the graphs the way I want it so I'll have to look into that more.

Thanks Eidetiker for introducing Wyze Watch. Seems like it is using the Zepp watch operating system. I had one from Amazfit when I was using my Android phone. There are always some new bugs & glitches in the software thus I switched to Apple Watch.
