Bernard.Sg's Journal, 28 Feb 21

It’s been 22.5hrs since I stopped eating. Thanks to experience gained from my first extended fasting and the hot weather today (34°C), I had drank more than 4 litres of liquid (should be more than 10 years since I drank so much water within a day).

When you fast, try to keep yourself as cold as possible, such as drinking cold water, take cold shower, or sleep in a bit cool room.

Thanks Nate, good hacks for increasing fats burning during fasting. As someone who rarely feel cold and can withstand cold, I sometimes get cold hands & feet during fasting. Minor ‘side effects’ and no biggie 😄

The longer fast you do, the more brown fat white fat transferred to. Those brown fat is the main source of energy and thermal. And brown fat is also an index to rate body age as well. Not only that. Do you know about sirtuins? It’s a type of proteins which activate natural body age reversion. Fasting activates sirtuin1. And coldness activates sirtuin2. You can read “Lifespan why we age and why we don’t have to” by David Sinclair for better understanding.

Dr Jason Fung said that Sirtuins are known as "the enzymes of youth" in his book The Longevity Solution. Thank you Nate, i've gotten the epub version of Lifespan and would read it. Extending Youth is the main driving force for me to practise Fasting.
