Yesterday was my first day poolside. I actually fit into by bathing suit. It was a perfect day in New England. In fact, the day got a rating of 10. Air was dry, temperature not too hot, about 75 to 80 degrees F. There was a nice breeze and an occasional whispy cloud. We had had rain the day before, so the pollen was washed out of the air and breathing felt good and clean. It is still early enough in the season that the leaves are lush and green and plump with water. When the breeze blows, you can hear the leaves tapping against each other. The caterpillars have not devasted the trees of their foliage yet, so the sound was an added blessing. Let me just say that I am a tree hugger. After my pets, they rank high on my list of companions. I have to close my eyes to feel and appreciate all these wonders b/c I detest the caterpillars. It was hot enough that after a while, I had to get up and get in the pool. My my, it was cold. Only got my ankles wet, I'll guess the temp was about 68 degrees. That's pretty cold when you've been basking in the sun. Especially whilst basking with this extra layer of fat protecting me from the world around me. Nuff said. We sing a song in my church that goes something like this, "this is the day that the Lord has made, let us give thanks and praise." Yesterday was a singing kind of day.
