SPRING RECOMP 2021 - DAY 21
REST DAY

Feel like shit. Started yesterday afternoon. Little nausea, arm pain, light full body steam roll, mooodzz. Permission to rest.

Calories down. Scale down.

Feels like I was on a roll and am shit since starting this recomp. Diet, lifting and rest are consuming way too much bandwidth. Household logistics are on the verge of fucked. I am the bottleneck on a couple key projects. Practice is off. Fucking everything feels off. So here we go again...

This morning I am most thankful for -
* Sun's Out - Fuck Yeah!
* Garbage Collection - totally take that shit for granted....
* A rare community of neighbors who simultaneously kinda look out for each other and are not all up in one's business. Mostly. And, crucially, haven't reported my flame thrower grill to the authorities...
* The fact that my 18yo, despite my somewhat lapsed recent oversight, is totally on top of his shit and just posted his best academic quarter of HS
* That this success is a direct repudiation of the Ex's infantilizing "dragon mom" parenting. (No hate. She's done a lot. But extrinsic "motivation" is a blunt and limited tool.)
* Having kids who know HOW to think, and are consequently largely immune to being told WHAT to think
* Passing that down from Pop
* Not passing down other things...
* Ownership of my own time, mostly... OK, partially, uh, somewhat... occasionally, aah, whatever - I know full well and am grateful that I am gifted with a freedom of action with which many are not, non-trivial responsibilities notwithstanding
* Pop's relative health and independence, compared to peers
* Cousin G's nine lives. It's more like eleven. Over the past 30 years he's survived multiple heart attacks, a couple rare diseases, a couple cancers, including pancreatic cancer, which no one survives, and most recently, three days on the floor of his condo after a fall, unable to reach the phone, followed by surgery and multiple stints in covid infested rehab. Last time I saw him a couple months ago, he was too weak to drive. So yesterday he calls, fully recovered, and wants to go to Vegas....
* Man Yams - 40#, 30 yams, $13. Nuff said.
* Roasted Onions - currently included in every meal...
* Our neighborhood fox! Just strolling through the yard with complete impunity....

Forward.

I love your posts! Sorry you're not feel well. You definitely have to rest, until you've completely got the vaccine residue out of your system.

Garbage collection, good one. We have to drop our garbage off and still pay for it. I often wonder what I would do if I am still here without my husband, old and can no longer drive. I may have to load up the mowing tractor to dump my trash. 🥴

Thanks Jimmie great read! You will feel better soon, I wonder what got you?! My mother’s friend had a different form of cancer, and some of them rare, every other year because she stayed on top of it and went to the doctor she always was cured of it. She lived until she was 90 something. Maybe it is down right determination. Have a Terrific Thursday!👍
