SPRING RECOMP 2021 - DAY 8

I have never, with the benefit of full and sober hindsight, looked back and realized that I should have ended my cut earlier, that I went too far and lost too much fat. Not once. Just sayin'.

Someone other than me once said everyone sets their target weight too high and stops cutting with plenty of extra fat left to burn.

Note to self - Err on the side of too low. It is trivial, obviously, to regain weight.

Diet's settling in after almost a week. Scale bounced yesterday on around 2900k to under the previous rebound high. Skipped Five Guys post workout and headed home for giant yams, grilled chicken, and roasted whole onions. Macros are off, even with the quality food choices. Protein needs to go up and fat down. Couple simple steps will help - subfat free sour cream for butter, pick up a lean(er) protein source, etc. Prolly also wouldn't hurt to fish the "Super Greens" and psyllium husk out of the back of the pantry.

Going back to full weekly Saturday weigh ins starting tomorrow. Will make adjustments then. Looks like the play is going to be to program my accessory work the day after the relevant main lift. Squat today; Nordics, reverse Nordics and split squats tomorrow. Or something like that. Gonna take a first pass at programming that tomorrow. Not sure how I feel about potentially replacing half my lift days with accessory work...

Pop's vaxxed. One and done. Decent week despite little forward initiative on my part. Inertia! Take the W; keep it moving.

Have a great weekend!
