SPRING RECOMP 2021
DAY 1

Fairly happy with the first day of normalized eating. I started a couple hours earlier than planned, ate a couple things not on my diet - Quiche, banana bread, rice, onions, butter - and exceeded my calorie budget. On the positive side, I drove right by four 7 Elevens, got the vast majority of my calories from chicken and yams, and kept my carbs right around 300g, arguably low for repletion purposes. All from Jimmie's kitchen. Every bite logged.

This compares (so far) quite favorably with my last cut to recomp transition (2018). That started on day eight of the final extended fast with homicidal ideation in the 7 Eleven over a plate of nachos. (Dude has no clue how close he came to bleeding out on the floor next to the cheese dispenser with a straw sticking out of his jugular while his emaciated, deranged, hoodied assailant dashed through the parking lot, chili and nacho cheese sauce dripping from his chin....But I digress...) It didn't end until I was up 19#, some nine days later. Took a month to recover...

Didn't get to the gym yesterday. I'm blaming sundowners. If you don't know what that is, good. You don't want to know and won't fully comprehend it until you see it firsthand, which I hope is an experience you are able to permanently avoid. Anywho, this is some known shit around these parts. Contributed to more than one broken fast over my just ended cut. Figured out how to get the job done and might have been better prepared yesterday. Onwards. Heading in mid-morning to cure.

I am actually excited about this newfound flexibility focus. The more I research, the more I think I am on the right track wrt strength, longevity of life quality, feels, aesthetics, basically everything about which I care. Been randomly extending my morning routine as I come across new stuff and to incorporate exercises I let lapse. Also added the occasional overnight insomnia stretch.

Got a half lotus on both sides this morning. Little rough, but legit. First time ever on the right, since I have begun paying attention to such things. Also noticing how terrific the flex routine makes me feel. Motion creates emotion. Need to carve out the time this weekend to get clear on my goals and develop my program.

Also, ordered stand-up desk components for the home office. Putting that bad boy on casters so I can move it around and have more floor space. Recovering the floor with rubber (gym flooring). Cheap, industrial chic, easier on the feet for standing work, and tolerable for floor flexibility work. Perfect!

Feels good to invest in myself a little bit. It's been a minute.

Launch recomp, clean out, scrub and recable office, maybe paint, research and craft flex program, complete patio drawings & permit application, expedite everybody's tax returns... Looks like a work weekend!

You always have so much involved in your day. I am a bit familiar with Sundowners, not personally, but through a family member. Tough situation. Have fun with your office remodeling and patio planning. It all sounds exciting! 🌞👍

Who knew you were funny?!? I also try to draw motivation from the very things that frustrate me. Survival. You're doing great. Glad the old JP is back.

Man thats the first I've heard of folks struggling with 7-11 food. We have a local convenience store in Oregon called dari-mart. They serve these biscuits and gravy in the morning, along with bacon and stuffed hash browns,🤤🤤🤤. A major contribution to my weight gain over the years. Now I try to imagine that canned gravey as an undulating fatburg, grosses me out and it's a good thing lol
