SPRING CUT - DAY 26
86 Hours Fasted

Another nickel in the bucket. Leaning out, but still a way to go. At 86 hours, currently on my longest continuous fast since I went 7 days chasing @adef's 10 day record in 2018. That was the cut where I first discovered fasting and peaked at a PR of 9.4%, the closest I've ever been to a legit beach body, so feel like it's headed in the right direction.

Feeling really good this morning. Adjusted my sleep strategy. Went down early and was tired enough I fell asleep pretty easily and unaided. Wide awake like clockwork at 1400. Took a half tab of melatonin. That and a naval war college lecture on the Faulklands war did the trick. Weighed in at 192# at 1400, btw. Sleep is like magic for fat loss. Up at 0600 feeling pretty good. No alarm, as it should be.

Productive yesterday in spite of the fasting wall. Several deliverables I want to knock off today, so I am off to it.

Have a terrific day.

Let's go!

Damn it was waaaaaay back in 2018 I did that fast? (A lifetime ago!) 😬 - Good job, your weight chart looks 'suitable for framing' 🥇🌞. Thanks for inspiring me!

@wbh I have been running rolling 72s since the top of the month and have been dropping body fat at a sustained cumulative run rate of almost 1/2# per day, nearly a 50‰ improvement over my prior best and frankly faster than any relevant benchmark I have been able to find. For me that's A LOT of benefit. Don't claim any expertise beyond my direct experience.... YMMV

What do you mean by “rolling 72’s”?

Awesome job Jimmie. oh how I wish I could fast like that again.

@wbh I have not. Always been cardio averse and fasted lifting has been a fail for me. Been focused on steadily reducing calories and gearing up to throw in some walking or rucking towards the end, if necessary.

@joel.I mean fast 70 hours, refeed in a 2 hour window, immediately rinse and repeat. Or similar.

I don't understand the intermittent starvation techniques you use, but they seem to be working very well for you. Keep it up, sir!

Last question. Do you have an app you use to track your fasting

Smashing it!

@joel. I use the fatsecret app. If you record a near zero amount of food on your fast days - like 0.01 tbsp of peanut butter - FS will read that as zero calories and calculate the daily average in the weekly reports accordingly. I use the weekly report to keep an eye on average daily kcal, and adjust refeed window, fast duration, and refeed calories and macros as needed. Good luck!
