SPRING CUT - DAY 22
61 Hours Fasted

Looks like a big drop, but only down 0.8# since the last pre-refeed weigh-in three days ago. Feels like a stall, even though I know better. Still rocking the morning puffy face, which I assumed would go away once I stopped eating. I'm down to Diet Coke and coffee on fasting days, so either it's the caffeine or my face is simply fat. Or something else I'm missing...

Felt really great yesterday for the first time in a minute. Sun was out. Mood was up. Highest energy day of this cut yet. Many fasters talk about exerperiencing some kind of euphoria and/or mental clarity a few days in. Not me. But maybe that's what was up yesterday.

Logged another work weekend on my feet, which makes the scale recalcitrance all the more annoying. My fasting discipline and the consequent success on this cut dates to getting a handle on family logistics, specifically food prep. Scrubbed down the kitchen Saturday, which was long overdue, and then prepped up. Cut the last of the whole rib from my last trip to the restaurant supply into 4 giant steaks, which I seasoned, air dried and bagged That should get me through the rest of this cut. Slow cooked an 18# cilantro lime pork shoulder. Prepped the last 4# of hanger steak, which the boys can cook for themselves. Prepped and marinated 7# of bone in chicken thighs for the grill. That should be enough to get us through the end of this cut. Also froze a 15# pork shoulder and a tray of chicken leg quarters for backup.

Forgot to take melatonin last night, as I was tired enough to just drop off. Dreams still crazy, but def not as crazy. Fasting insomnia in full effect, but I am not sure it was any worse than with melatonin on board.

Plan is to cut to somewhere south of 14% and then go straight to recomp. Goal is under 10%, may even go for the PR (9.4%) depending on how I feel. Not sure if I can recomp all that way, but given how long I have been off, and how much mass I have lost, I think I have a shot.

Last meal of the cut is going to be a standard ribeye refeed. Back under the bar the next day. Recomp diet is going to be 2400/1700 (lift day/cut day) leangains. I have previously adjusted the rest day calories all the way down to zero. Gonna adjust that and lift days (every other day minimum) based on results and how I feel.

Onward. Still have 8# more fat to torch.

...I'm gonna try to water fast today... We will see what happens. I don't look forward to the insomnia, but, I plan to have heavy cream so that may help...
