Spring Cut Day 11
12 Hours Fasted

FS Keeps deleting phone posts...

Broke fast at 72 hours as planned. 100% compliance. Intended to go at least one extra overnight. Heard Pop flopping around in the kitchen. Went to help. Got caught up. Pre-cooked Ribeye sous vid was a fail. Under cooked. Got down less than a pound before I threw in the towel. Moved on to quiche, pulled pork tacos, and, wait for it......Tostitos. ~2900K total; less than 100C. More than pleased to be down a tick on a full refeed.

Fat roll is warm to the touch. Metallic taste is in full effect. Feels like I popped right back into Ketosis/fat-burning mode overnight.

Belt comfortably cinched in a full notch. Clothes fitting moderately better. Spare tire in visible retreat.

Jumping right back into another 72. Refeed is Saturday dinner. Also planning to do a full weigh in Saturday morning, including body fat, so I'll have mid cut stats shortly.

Let's go!

Nice job slamming those Tostitos like no bodies business. Pulled pork sounds good to me. Do you check your ketone levels? And is it what you do, like cycle in and out of ketosis?? Awesome you got 72 hours of fasting in. Wishing you and sending you +++++positive ++++++ vibes 》》》》》. Bahm👊 to another 72.

@KDS I have checked ketones in the past, but do not bother anymore. I know what it feels like and how my body responds. I do typically cycle calories and carbs, via one system or another, when cutting or recomping.

Maybe I can learn from you on how to trick my metabolism to recover from being destroyed. Any information that you provide will be taken into account. Thanks in advance

@KDS Always happy to help, but must confess that I know nothing about a damaged metabolism or its repair.

What I mean is the tricks to switch energy sources.

@KDS Got it. What do you mean by "switch energy source"?

Between ketosis and glucose

Are you fat adapted? That cycling in between is easier?

@KDS Got it. As a practical matter it's pretty simple. Just stop eating carbs. Keep protein moderate. Your body will then start releasing glucose stored in your liver and muscles. Somewhere between 48-72 hours of zero carb intake most of us run out of stored glucose and the body shifts to burning fat for fuel (aka ketosis). This is not painless, especially for seasoned carb and sugar junkies, but gets much easier with repetition. Research "keto flu" for full symptoms and others' tactics for handling. IME the key to getting through "the wall" is simply not quitting and gutting it out. You will know when you are through, because you will feel it. Many recommend supplementing electrolytes to mitigate symptoms and I believe that this can help. Good luck!

I lived in keto way for years and know the leftist. Some don't believe in it. But I know off hand that I had better energy, better moods, best of all defined strong lean muscles. Set backs are enviable but bouncing back takes time. Had blood work drawn just a few minutes ago. Since I have already been on a long fast I can set the course to begin my journey with keto. Hopefully my report comes back good. 🎯💯✔
