I am 57 years old (July 5th) and am finally taking my getting into shape seriously (I know, round is a shape) I started out at 350 pounds last year. I spent too many years disabled because of illnesses and now that I am healed by Jesus stripes I am looking forward to getting back into working. I am a professionally trained chef or was until the amount of pain meds made it impossible to work in that field.

Update May 2015

I slipped and let my weight get back up to 300 pounds, I am back full steam this time and it is permanent. I have changed my WOE to LCHF and that is working wonders for myself and my Beloved Dorinda. It is also easier this time as Dorinda is finally healthy enough after Two major surgeries last year that took approximately 3 months, that she is also able to join me on this lifestyle change. We have both noticed an increase in energy and clarity of thought and a slow gradual loss of weight, bigger losses in measurements which is the best way to gauge your progress. I was back on massive amounts of insulin and oral diabetes medicines but am now completely off the insulin shots. This is why if you read my daily journal entries you will see that I list my Fasting (morning blood) Sugars, Noon Blood Sugars and evening Blood Sugars. This is just another way of helping me track my progress. My fasting blood sugars consistently ran to the high 300's and even hit over 500 a couple of times, which is why I was taking 120 long lasting insulin and almost 200 fast acting insulin everyday. I know with my wife, my friends here and the strength my Lord gives me I can do this.
